Where To Find Lyla Stride's Books

Lyla’s eBooks (and audiobooks) are available in several stores online. The easiest way to see where they are available is the eBook catalogue directly on this site. In summary, though they are available at:

  • Amazon (My major store)
  • Smashwords (Additional eBooks)
  • Patreon (1 Month Early Releases, eBook and Audiobook Freebies + More!)
  • LylaStride.com (Complete Book Catalogue with direct links to where you can buy)
Every eBook release follows this schedule is as follows: 1 month early release for patrons on Patreon -> release to Amazon or Smashwords -> Audiobook released on LylaStride.com.
 
It gets a little complicated, but just know that if you come directly to LylaStride.com and go to the eBook store, all books are listed and will direct you towards the store they are available on. If you want to know the “whys”, read on!

Why The Different Stores?

This is where it gets complicated. Being an author (especially an erotic author) comes with difficulties, and most of these are related to Amazon. Amazon is still at the center of any author’s world, but this causes certain issues:

  1. Problem 1: Any book published on Amazon via KDP that is part of Kindle Unlimited, becomes exclusive. This means that it cannot be listed on any other store.
  2. Problem 2: Amazon’s content policies are incredibly strict meaning that certain books cannot be published on the platform.
  3. Problem 3: Amazon’s audiobook strategy does not work for me personally.

Problem 1: Exclusivity

I want to reward my patrons on Patreon, but a release to Amazon means I am unable to share eBooks as rewards. So, to counteract that, I release all eBooks for subscribing patrons on Patreon one full month before they become available for purchase on Amazon. These eBooks are available to download for one full month (so grab them while you can!) and they are then removed from the Patreon plaform before being added to Amazon.

Sadly, Amazon’s exclusivity means that I cannot list them for sale on my own store here on Lylastride.com.

Problem 2: Amazon's Strict Guidelines

Most of my eBooks are an Amazon, available to buy or for free via Kindle Unlimited. However, occasionally sometimes the content of my books will be in conflict with Amazon’s strict content policies. In those instances, rather I will release to Smashwords.

Problem 3: Audiobook Strategy

My audiobook strategy means that the Amazon platform does not directly work for me. As a result, I release audiobooks on Patreon for those at the relevant subscription level. In addition, they are available for purchase here on LylaStride.com.
